Although this may be true, the power of silence is needed in our fast-paced lives more than ever before. By intentionally integrating moments of silence into our daily routines, we can unlock endless benefits for our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. By being silent we are able to hear more deeply of what is going on in our souls and gain wisdom that is difficult to truly gain when there is a lot of noise surrounding us.

When we are exposed to constant noise, it can disrupt sleep patterns and overall health. A lot of us fall asleep to things like a show or youtube video on our phones nowadays, and although we may think it is helping us to unwind it is kind of doing the opposite. Embracing silence, particularly before bedtime, can help calm the mind and prepare the body for restful sleep. Since quality sleep is crucial for maintaining physical health, cognitive function, and emotional well-being, it is important that we give the brain adequate time to prepare for sleep in a meaningful way. The better rest that we get, the more we are able to foster healthy patterns in our bodies. Lower blood pressure and a stronger immune system are some of the important ways that good sleep is supported by the influence of good sleep.
